1. Begin by measuring the window width from opening to opening or molding to molding.
2.Add a minimum of 8" (4" on each side) to allow the treatment to extend beyond the window frame. If you have an existing rod measure the length of the rod for your finished width.
3. To determine the length of your drapery measure from the top of the window molding to the floor. Then measure the top of the window molding to the ceiling. Decide where your rod is going to be placed, then add window length to floor measurement and top of window to rod measurement for your finished length. Don't forget your rings will drop the drapery down another 2"- 4" inches depending on type.
4. For a formal look you can add a puddle (drapery sits on floor) to your drapery. Puddles can range from 2"- 15" depending on the look you want to achieve. We recommend a 2-3" puddle, so the drapery breaks on the floor. Be sure to add the length of the puddle you want to the finished length of the drapery.
